What Efficient Dollar is

Efficient Dollar is a personal-finance software product launching later this year. We’re building it on a simple premise: the same systems thinking that makes a business more efficient applies just as well to your personal finances.

Why this matters

The bar for “doing okay” financially in this country is genuinely low.

Roughly 32% of US households carry a credit card balance month to month — about 43 million homes. The median 65–74-year-old household has $70K in retirement accounts. Most Americans don’t have a clear picture of where their money goes, where it’s being wasted, or how today’s decisions compound into their long-term position.

There’s room for almost everyone to do better. The tools to actually do it haven’t existed at the household level.

What we’re building

The product handles the basics — past spending, current net worth — but the real work is forward-looking. It models the actual consequences of your decisions before you make them, anticipates the unexpected expenses your patterns are setting you up for, and surfaces where money is quietly being wasted.

You see what today’s calls do to tomorrow, weigh the future correctly, and stop the slow drift toward debt or behind-on- long-term-goals that most households end up in.

There’s nothing quite like it on the market today. You’ll be the first to know when it launches.

Free tools and research

Alongside the product, we publish original research on economics, wealth, and personal finance — and offer a number of free tools.

Who runs this

Jared Lundrigan

I’m Jared Lundrigan, founder of Efficient Dollar. My background is in business intelligence — data modeling, analytics, and automation.

I started this project because money problems touch almost everything that matters — marriages, the goals you keep putting off, the trips you don’t take, the lifestyle you tell yourself isn’t possible. Money should be a tool to build the life you want, not a constant stress point. And not everyone wants to spend most of their adult life inside a 9-to-5. We’re building toward more freedom and more options.
